Program Requirements: Children must be five years of age on or before September 30th for the academic year they are enrolling.

Class Times: 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Extended care hours are available, please contact us for details.

Program Goals

The Academy’s full day Kindergarten program addresses the cognitive, social, physical and emotional needs of the student. Using a broad range of content that is relevant, engaging and meaningful to children, the program incorporates a variety of integrated learning experiences, materials, and equipment, and instructional strategies that accommodate the broad range of children’s unique differences in prior experience, developmental levels and learning styles.

Program Themes

Language Arts
The Kindergarten language arts curriculum focuses on developing the student’s ability to read and write, including phonemic awareness, letter-sound identification, decoding, letter formation, sentence development and phonics.

Social Studies
The social studies curriculum begins introducing the concept of citizenship to students. It offers a foundation for later studies in history and geography.

Science
Students are introduced to the basic concepts of life science, plants, seasons, senses, and the scientific method.

International Language & Culture
The International Language and Culture program promotes listening comprehension, encourages oral production, fosters positive attitudes towards learning foreign languages, and introduces foreign cultures.

Math
The Academy’s math focal points promote problem solving, reasoning, communication, making connections, and designing and analyzing representations.

The Arts
The children are exposed and introduced to a wide variety of art mediums. They are encouraged to use their imagination, listening and observational skills and personal experiences as a basis for creating art.

Music
Children will be supported and encouraged to express themselves through music and movement.

Physical Education
In addition to providing daily opportunities for children to be physically active in a challenging and fun way, the Academy’s Physical Fitness Specialty Program offers exposure to a wide range of sports and activities to encourage physical fitness.

Character Development
Students at the Academy gain a deeper awareness of just how “special” they are through lessons that showcase social teachings of the values of teamwork, honesty, and perseverance.
